LOCAL SELF GOVERNMENTS IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS Steady conference of cities and municipalities - SKGO, was organized in Sava Center Belgrade, the conference with the title `Regularly about the emergency – local self governments in emergency situations –reform of so far practice The objective of this meeting, that gathered the representatives of local authorities, experts and representatives of Serbian Government, is the opening dialogue between all the parts that will only bring to better and more efficient solutions of governing in emergency situations, specially within the range of authorizations of local self governments. This year, according to the words of the representatives of SKGO and Mayor of Nis PhD Zoran Perisic, for the cities and municipalities, was very hard for emergency situations and consequences that followed. After all, it became clear that legal solutions and practice of governing in irregular situations have to be improved. Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality in Nis was also included in the work of this conference. Palilula Municipality showed the high degree of organization and good communication with the citizens during the worst moments of natural disasters. The representatives of this Municipality were the first rescuing team that from this area participated in the helping the citizens of Obrenovac. During the working part of the conference, about the reform and emergency situations, spoke Ivan Bosnjak, state secretary in Ministry of state government and local self government, PhD Zelimir Kesetovic, Faculty of safety, Predrag Maric, assistant of the Minister and head of the Sector for emergency situations, Sasa Paunovic, president of the Municipality Paracin, PhD Bogoljub Milosavljevic, Faculty of Law, PhD Zoran Jeftic, Faculty of Safety. The expert of World Banka Mikio Ishiwatari, presented the experience of Japan in management of emergency situations. Moderator was Djordje Stanicic, general secretary of SKGO. Theme type of SKGO conference was held thanks to the project Institutional support of SKGO, Swiss office for the cooperation in Serbia.
